This is a good article I found on the web, even here in Kenya I have heard use a Tampon to stop major bleeding! Maybe in the way past a medic who had nothing used one to stop some form of bleeding, but not the bleeding we see today in ballistic or just traumatic injuries. Get away from the old-school of thought and update your knowledge on all of the means to prevent hemorrhage control.
